Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus)

Alternate plumaged adult with worn flight feathers at Store Bay, Tobago, 4 July 1994 (TTRBC 1996-5). Photos © by Floyd Hayes. This species is similar to Laughing Gull (L. atricilla), but note the brown (rather than black) hood that does not extend down the hindneck, and the paler grey mantle. This bird was present from 4-14 July 1994.
