Red-and-green Macaw (Ara chloropterus)
A pair at Las Cuevas, Trinidad, 27 February 2001. Photos © by Beth Kingsley Hawkins. Note the small patch of green--rather than yellow--between the red and blue on the wing, distinguishing this species from Scarlet Macaw (A. macao). Up to three birds have been present since 23 October 1999. Their origin is unknown. Though escape from captivity seems likely, a wild origin is plausible.
