Injured adult in cage at Mount Hope Veterinary Clinic, Trinidad, 17 November 2000 (B). Photo © by Floyd Hayes. The injured bird was apparently shot in the right wing by a hunter in Caroni Swamp, Trinidad, and taken to the veterinary clinic on 10 November 2000. Note the blackish head of both birds, which is diagnostic of this species.
Adult at Carli Bay, Trinidad, 10 November 2001. Photos © by Floyd Hayes. This bird was found by Nigel Lallsingh, Floyd Hayes, Keisha Lallsingh and Brett Hayes. The dark coloured legs are presumably covered by mud.
