| Juveniles among a flock of five at Caroni Rice Fields, Trinidad, 2 May 2002. Photos © by Floyd Hayes (A) and Brett Hayes (B). Although adults regularly visit Trinidad during the wet season, these individuals represented the first juveniles ever recorded in Trinidad. Note the following features: buffy brown face; black hindcrown; dark brown lower neck; tan back; rufous lesser upperwing coverts; greyish scapulars, greater coverts and tertials with buff edges; black underwing coverts and flight feathers; finely barred black-and-buff flanks (not discernible in photos); and buffy gray underparts. | |||||||||||||||||||
